Artcrank Minneapolis is coming up on the 14th of April. You can find out all of the details here.

My buddy Charles runs this shindig and it’s always a really good time. This year they’re having it back downtown at Traffic Zone Center for Visual Art right over by the Bev’s Wine Bar. I was lucky enough to be selected to participate for a third year. Out of all my projects all year long, I really look forward to this one. It’s a chance to make art about bikes with no real rules or clients.

Now I don’t know if you guys know this about me, but I kind have a thing for badges, crests and vintage type lock-ups. When I was down in Alabama at that vintage air museum about a month ago, I was just juiced with inspiration. After a few nights of sketching and coming up with names with my dad, I had a perfect blueprint for my 2012 art crank poster: MPLS Bike Gangs.

After we got back, I got to designing, knocked out the poster in a few nights and hooked up with my good buddy Kevin Hayes aka LovelyMPLS for the printing. Kevin was awesome helping me print this thing. He even did a complex ink test to make sure the overprinting turned out perfect, his screens were on point, and I had a hell of a good time hanging out with him and printing it this Wednesday.

The final result are 56 two color posters printed on 100 lb light blue French Speckletone. Each one is signed and numbered and will be available at the opening. I hope I see you guys there. If you see me, say hi!
