I’ve been a huge fan of Katie’s work since I first discovered her illustrations back in 2003. Since then she’s turned her passion for illustration from a hobby into one of the best illustration careers in the country. It’s been awesome watching her style develop from stuff like this into stuff like this. She does this gridded-out icon style better then anyone in the game. Anytime anyone does it anymore, people are like “looks like you’re trying to do a Katie Kirk illustration – why don’t you just hire her”.

I think she perfected this style a few years ago when she designed a children’s book called “Eli, no!”. She uploaded it to Flickr to see if she could get any bites. As it turned out, she did. It was just released and you can grab yourself a copy on amazon. Congrats Katie.
